The commemorative edition of the 28th anniversary
of Playboy magazine (Editora Abril) published
in August 2003, showed a survey made among
the 28 best cachaças of Brazil. The
magazine, which has features such as discuss
issues and reporting involving refinement,
sophistication and pleasure besides of course,
to show beautiful women in sensual photos,
followed the national drink concept growth
trend, which increasingly enter in a process
of "glamour" according to the
consumers’ taste. This trend is a
consequence of a joint effort among manufacturers
and lovers to elevate the image of cachaça,
extracting old negative concepts about the
product and to prove that the drink is rich
in quality, flavor, and especially in culture.
Cachaça became sensation in Europe
and slowly goes conquering the Americans.
In Brazil, there are sophisticated bars
that have cachaça guides indicating
region, cropland, aging and prices of doses
getting to 35 reais - beating in price a
lot of imported drinks, such as some Scottish
whiskeys.
In the survey of Playboy, were evaluated
visual characteristics, smell and taste
of each sample by a team of "experts"
in the subject. The brands were divided
into groups as to the form of production
and fermentation, and in the category "Aguardente
de Cana" (those industrially produced)
the Caninha Oncinha was voted the 2nd best
in the country, proof of competence, quality
of the brand and our region industry strength.
That comes only to add in the Oncinha’s
history of success that, for more than 90
years has increasingly gained the trust
and preference of the market.
